ISRO Scientist Engineer Job Location 2026
Selected candidates can be posted at ISRO/Department of Space Centres or Units across India according to organisational requirements. Candidates may also be transferred between ISRO/DoS centres when required. The notification does not provide a separate location-wise vacancy breakup.
ISRO Scientist Engineer Salary 2026
All Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ posts are placed in Pay Matrix Level 10.

ISRO Scientist Engineer Age Limit 2026
The upper age limit is 28 years as on 16 September 2026.
Serving Central Government civilian employees, Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are eligible for age relaxation according to Government of India rules.
ISRO Scientist Engineer Educational Qualification 2026
Candidates must possess the following qualification with at least 65% aggregate marks or CGPA 6.84/10:
- Electronics: B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in Electronics & Communication Engineering.
- Mechanical: B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- Computer Science: B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in Computer Science Engineering.
The same qualification requirements apply to the corresponding PRL vacancies.
ISRO Scientist Engineer Eligibility Criteria 2026
Only Indian nationals should apply. Candidates must meet the prescribed educational qualification and age conditions by the dates specified in the official notification.
ISRO Scientist Engineer Selection Process 2026
Selection will be conducted through:
- Written Test / Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Personal Interview
The written examination carries 100 marks. Part A contains 80 discipline-specific questions with negative marking of one-third mark for a wrong answer. Part B contains aptitude/ability questions and has no negative marking.
Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on written-test performance. The final selection panel gives 50% weightage to the written test and 50% to the interview.
