Candidates who have passed Class 10 can apply for Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak posts. Selection will mainly be based on Class 10 marks, without a written competitive examination.

India Post GDS Salary 2026

GDS employees are paid through the Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) system. GDS posts are governed by separate GDS service rules and are not regular Central Government employee posts.
India Post GDS Age Limit
Candidates should be between 18 and 40 years as on 21 September 2026.
Age relaxation is applicable as per rules:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- PwBD + OBC: 13 years
- PwBD + SC/ST: 15 years
India Post GDS Educational Qualification
Applicants must have passed Class 10/Secondary School Examination from a recognised board with passing marks in Mathematics and English.
Candidates must also have studied the prescribed local language and should have knowledge of computers and cycling.
India Post GDS Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy the educational qualification, age limit and local-language requirements for the postal circle they select. Applicants should carefully choose only those posts for which they meet the prescribed language conditions.

There is no written examination for this recruitment. Candidates will be shortlisted through a system-generated merit list based on Class 10 marks, followed by document verification and other engagement formalities.

Visit the official India Post GDS portal and complete the One-Time Registration using a valid mobile number and email address. After registration, log in from 2 September 2026, select the preferred postal circle and eligible posts, enter Class 10 details, upload the required photograph and signature, pay the application fee if applicable, and submit the form.
