The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, has released the AIIMS NORCET 11 Recruitment 2026 notification for the appointment of 2,218 Nursing Officers in participating AIIMS institutions and other Central Government hospitals.

AIIMS NORCET is a national-level common recruitment examination conducted for the appointment of Nursing Officers in participating AIIMS institutions and other government medical organisations.

A Nursing Officer is responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients admitted to hospital wards, intensive care units, operation theatres, emergency departments and speciality units. The employee works closely with doctors, senior nursing officers, technicians and other healthcare professionals.

The work requires clinical knowledge, careful observation, accurate documentation and the ability to respond appropriately during medical emergencies. Depending on the allocated institution, selected candidates may work in general medicine, surgery, paediatrics, maternity care, trauma, oncology, cardiology, neurology, dialysis, critical care or other clinical departments.

AIIMS NORCET 11 Recruitment 2026 Female and Male Seat Distribution

As per the decision referred to in the detailed notification, 80% of Nursing Officer seats in participating AIIMS institutions are reserved for female candidates and 20% are reserved for male candidates.

This distribution applies to participating AIIMS institutions in accordance with the stated Central Institute Body decision. Candidates should check the detailed institute-wise vacancy annexure for category and gender allocation.

AIIMS NORCET 11 Recruitment 2026 Merit List and Institute Allocation

The final merit list will be prepared based on performance in the Stage-II NORCET Main examination. When an examination is conducted in multiple shifts, the applicable AIIMS normalisation procedure may be used.

Qualified candidates will be invited to submit their institution preferences. Allocation will be completed according to:
