SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Job Location
Selected candidates will be posted in the State or UT for which they apply. Candidates should therefore choose their State carefully while submitting the application.
SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
Candidates should be 20 to 28 years old as on 1 April 2026. Applicants must have been born between 2 April 1998 and 1 April 2006, both dates inclusive.
Age relaxation includes:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD General/EWS: 10 years
- PwBD OBC: 13 years
- PwBD SC/ST: 15 years
Other eligible categories will receive relaxation according to SBI rules.
SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
Final-year or final-semester graduation students can also apply provisionally, but they must produce proof of passing graduation on or before 31 December 2026.
SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be Indian citizens and satisfy the required age and educational qualifications. They should also be able to read, write, speak and understand the selected local language of the State or UT.
Candidates who studied the required local language in Class 10 or Class 12 can be exempted from the Local Language Proficiency Test.

The SBI Junior Associate pay scale is:
₹24,050 – ₹64,480
Graduates receive two advance increments, making the starting basic pay ₹26,730 per month.
The total starting monthly emoluments at a metro location such as Mumbai are approximately ₹46,000, including DA and other applicable allowances.
SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection process includes:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Local Language Proficiency Test, wherever applicable
The Preliminary Exam carries 100 marks, while the Main Examination carries 200 marks. There is a negative marking of one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question for each incorrect answer.
