IAF Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 – Apply Online from 6 July 2026

The Indian Air Force has announced the IAF Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 Recruitment for unmarried Indian male and female candidates under the Agnipath Scheme.

Candidates who have passed Class 12, completed an eligible three-year engineering diploma or passed a recognised two-year vocational course can apply under the Science Subjects or Other than Science Subjects categories.

Online registration will begin on 6 July 2026 at 11:00 AM and close on 26 July 2026 at 11:00 PM. The Indian Air Force has advised candidates to complete registration early because an extension of the application dates will not be provided.

The Phase-I online examination is scheduled to be conducted on 22 and 23 September 2026.

Selected candidates will be enrolled as Agniveervayu for four years. This recruitment is not for appointment as a commissioned officer, pilot, navigator or regular Airman.

IAF Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 Full Job Description

Agniveervayu candidates will be enrolled in the Indian Air Force under the Air Force Act, 1950, for a fixed engagement period of four years.

Selected candidates will undergo military training based on Indian Air Force requirements. After training, they may be assigned technical, operational, administrative, logistics, communication, security, equipment-maintenance or other military duties.

The Science Subjects and Other than Science Subjects categories relate to educational eligibility and examination subjects. They do not guarantee appointment to a particular trade, department or technical role.

Agniveervayu is a distinct rank in the Indian Air Force and is different from existing regular Airmen ranks. The Indian Air Force is not obligated to retain every Agniveervayu beyond the four-year engagement period.

Agniveervayu personnel must maintain strict military discipline, physical fitness, medical fitness, operational readiness and professional conduct. They may be posted anywhere in India or abroad and may have to serve in difficult weather, terrain and operational conditions.

After four years, Agniveervayu personnel will be given an opportunity to apply for enrolment into the regular cadre of the Indian Air Force as Airmen. Up to 25% of a specific batch may be selected based on organisational requirements and objective criteria.

Completion of the four-year engagement does not create an automatic right to permanent employment.

Agniveervayu personnel will receive a customised monthly package that increases during each year of service.

Thirty per cent of the monthly package will be contributed by the candidate to the Agniveer Corpus Fund. The Government of India will contribute an equal amount.

Agniveervayu personnel will not be required to contribute to a Provident Fund in the Indian Air Force.

Agniveervayu personnel will be provided with non-contributory life-insurance coverage of ₹48 lakh during the four-year engagement period.

IAF Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 Regular Cadre Opportunity

After completing four years, Agniveervayu personnel may apply for enrolment into the regular cadre of the Indian Air Force as Airmen.

Selected candidates must agree not to marry during the four-year engagement period.

IAF Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 Marks Calculation Rule

The exact aggregate percentage written on the marksheet or calculated according to the rules of the concerned education board or polytechnic institution will be considered.

Marks will not be rounded upward.

For example, 49.99% will be treated as 49% and will not be rounded to 50%.

Candidates must satisfy the following general eligibility conditions:

  1. The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
  2. Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.
  3. The candidate must have been born between 1 July 2005 and 1 January 2010.

Candidates who qualify in the Physical Fitness Test must appear for Adaptability Test I.

Adaptability Test I is an objective examination that assesses the candidate’s suitability for employment under different geographical, weather and operational conditions.

Candidates qualifying in Adaptability Test I will appear for Adaptability Test II.

Adaptability Test II assesses whether the candidate can adjust to the Indian Air Force environment and military way of life.

IAF Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify in Adaptability Test II will undergo a medical examination conducted by an Air Force Medical Team.

The examination may include:

  • Urine examination
  • Fasting and post-meal blood-sugar tests
  • Serum cholesterol
  • Kidney-function tests
  • Liver-function tests
  • Chest X-ray
  • ECG

IAF Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 Important Instructions

Candidates must read the complete official advertisement before applying.

Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible.

Online registration will begin on 6 July 2026 and close on 26 July 2026.

Candidates should submit only one application. Multiple applications may result in rejection.

All personal, educational and domicile details must be entered correctly.

The domicile category selected during registration will be used for state-wise shortlisting and preparation of the Provisional Select List.

Candidates must qualify separately in every applicable Phase-I paper.

Mobile phones, smartwatches and other electronic devices are prohibited in Phase-I and Phase-II testing areas.

Candidates found using unfair means or possessing prohibited electronic devices may be permanently debarred.

Inclusion in the Provisional Select List does not guarantee enrolment.

Final enrolment will depend on:

  1. State-wise merit
  2. Availability of state-wise vacancies
  3. Medical fitness
  4. Candidate not exceeding 22 years of age on the enrolment date
  5. Verification of original documents
  6. Fulfilment of all eligibility conditions

Candidates should not pay money to agents or intermediaries. Indian Air Force recruitment is conducted through a fair and merit-based selection process.
