- Most Junior Assistant and similar posts: Minimum 18 Years
- Village Administrative Officer: Minimum 21 Years
- Forest Watcher / Forest Guard: Minimum 21 Years
- Executive Officer Grade IV: Minimum 25 Years
- Maximum age for many General category posts: Around 30 to 35 Years
SC, ST, BC, MBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and other eligible categories receive relaxation as per TNPSC rules. Some categories/posts have no upper-age limit subject to conditions.
TNPSC Group IV Recruitment 2026 – Educational Qualification
Educational qualification varies by post.
For many posts such as Junior Assistant, VAO and similar Group IV positions, candidates should have passed SSLC / Class 10.
Typist posts generally require SSLC along with the prescribed typewriting qualification.
Steno Typist posts require SSLC along with approved typewriting and shorthand qualifications.
