1. India to host BRICS Women Ministerial Meeting in Kochi
India will host the BRICS Women Ministerial Meeting on 8–9 July 2026 in Kochi, Kerala, under India’s BRICS Chairship 2026. The meeting will focus on women-led development, leadership, entrepreneurship, digital inclusion, financial inclusion, climate action and nutrition.
2. India to host 3rd BRICS Transport Ministers’ Meeting in Nagpur
India will host the 3rd BRICS Transport Ministers’ Meeting in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on 11–12 July 2026. The meeting will discuss transport cooperation, sustainable aviation fuel, urban mobility, multimodal transport, resilient supply chains, decarbonisation and AI-based technologies in transport.
3. Kamarajar Port becomes India’s second major port with 18-metre draft
Kamarajar Port Limited has become India’s second major port after Visakhapatnam Port to have an operational draft of 18 metres. This will help the port handle fully laden Capesize vessels and improve India’s maritime trade capacity.
4. TribeX digital learning platform launched
Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram launched TribeX, a digital learning platform for tribal arts, culture, traditional knowledge and skill development. The platform offers free certificate courses and UGC-recognized diploma programmes related to tribal languages, crafts, textiles and traditional knowledge.
5. India–Indonesia joint statement released during PM Modi’s visit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook a State Visit to Indonesia from 6–8 July 2026. India and Indonesia released a joint statement to strengthen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and PM Modi addressed the Indonesian Parliament during the visit.
